Larry Wood, M.D.

Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Wood completed his undergraduate degree at Baylor University. He went on to receive his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. After a year of internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston he completed his ophthalmology training at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.

Practice

Dr. Wood completed requirements for certification with the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1994. He has maintained his re-certification every 10 years with the necessary continuing medical education and practice requirements. Dr. Wood is a diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Wood opened his private practice of comprehensive ophthalmology in 1993 in Denison, TX. There he cared for his community for over 20 years, before conceding his solo practice. Dr. Wood took the opportunity to work for the hospital group in Hannibal, MO over four years. In 2018 Dr. Wood jumped at the opportunity to come home to Texas and join the thriving practice of CRB Medical Associates.

Equally thrilled to be back in Texas is Dr. Wood’s wife. Leslie is an educator and has tremendous passion for early childhood students and their families. She is currently teaching Pre-K at Northwest Elementary here in Brownwood, TX. Dr. Wood and his wife have a son and daughter, both who are married and starting their own careers in Texas.

Interests

Dr. Wood loves his work, but he also enjoys traveling with family and friends. Besides following baseball and his beloved Baylor Bears, Dr. Wood enjoys playing golf, corn hole, ping pong, and pickleball.
